Prevalence of Elder Abuse by Family Members and its Related Factors in Gonabad, Iran

Objectives Elder abuse is one of the major social health problems in communities which has significant effects on decreasing their and safety. The present study aims to investigate prevalence elder by family members its related factors Gonabad, Iran. Methods & Materials This analytical cross-sectional was conducted 2020 401 elderly people Who were selected using cluster random sampling. Data collection tools a two-part questionnaire including demographic form members. questionnaires completed community center. analyzed SPSS software version 23, descriptive inferential statistics. significance level set at 0.05. Results mean age participants 68.53±6.75 years. 44.6%. highest care negligence lowest rejection. educational (P=0.03), history hospitalization (P<0.001), sleep quality income (P<0.001) dependency had statistically relationship with Conclusion Given high Gonabad city, it seems necessary have programs increase awareness elderly, caregivers, personnel prevent reduce abuse.
